Pouring Luria Broth Agar

Purpose: Pour bacterial media agar plates and pour bacterial media agar plates with antibiotics. (Kanamycin)



Materials:

Steralized LB Agar (from autoclave prep on 04/02/2013)

(10) Steralized Culture plates

Parafilm (optional)

Kanamycin

p200 Micropippetor and tips

Lab marker





 

Procedure:



1. Labeled half of plates LB Agar, 04/02/2013, JN

2. Labeled other half of plates LB Agar with Kan, 04/02/2013, JN

3. Carefully poured approximately 20mls of LB Agar in the first 5 plates 

4.  Added 200µg of 50mg/ml Kan to the steralized bottle containing 200mls of LB Agar

5. Carefully poured approximately 20mls of LB Agar in the last 5 plates labeled as Agar with Kan.
